SVHC to offer flu vaccination clinics
The flu vaccination clinics will be held at the Second Congregational Church on Hillside St. on the following Wednesdays in October: Oct. 17, 24, and 31 from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. These are walk-in clinics, no appointment is necessary.
The clinics are for adults 18 years old and older and the fee is $35.
The clinics accept Medicare Part B, cash or checks only; no other insurance accepted. Those eligible for Medicare Part B should bring their insurance card. For more information, call the SVMC Flu Hotline at (802) 447-5559.
The U. S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending the flu vaccine for everyone six months and older. Getting vaccinated is especially important for those at higher risk for serious flu-related complications or those who live with or care for those at high risk. They include: pregnant women; people 65 years of age and older; people with certain chronic medical conditions; and people with a body mass index (BMI) above 39. It is also recommended that those who care for or come in contact with high-risk individuals be vaccinated. They include health care workers; family members and household contacts; and family members and caregivers for children under six months of age.
