Supporting Phil Scott

To the Editor:

I am very pleased to be running for re-election as your State Representative and I promise to bring as much energy to this position as I have over the past few years. I talk to a lot of people as I'm out and about and so many share their thoughts about the problems with our government. The vast majority of comments I hear are about how the far left and far right wings of politics fail the public. I totally agree that we need more people who legislate from the center. I pledge to you that I will continue to reach out to other moderate legislators of all stripes and work for what is in my district's best interests.

As a centrist who votes on the merits of issues and not partisan politics, I appreciate the efforts of all elected officials when they do the same. For this reason I was very pleased when the Lt. Governor asked me to manage his campaign this election cycle. I've known Phil Scott for many years and been extremely impressed with his integrity and commitment to our state. Over the last few months, as I've worked more closely with Phil and have been incredibly heartened by his depth of empathy and his commitment to taking the time to really delve into issues to develop his positions. He doesn't simply take a partisan stand - that would be easy but wouldn't serve us all well. He listens to all sides and then, most impressively, he balances that information with his core values of self reliance, helping those who need our help the most, and his deep desire to improving peoples lives by enhancing their opportunities.

We need more statesmen like Lt. Governor Phil Scott and I encourage you to join me in voting for Phil on November 6.
