'Summer Wednesdays' set for Library

MANCHESTER - While the First Wednesdays humanities lecture series is on hiatus, Mark Skinner Library will once more present Summer Wednesdays, which take place on site at the library.

Just in time for Fathers' Day, Tim Bryant, Vermont dairy farmer and author of "A Father's Gift" will be presenting a reading and book signing on Wednesday, June 5, at 7 p.m.

Bryant's book is a collection of stories from a time when the family farm was the economic center of Vermont. There are photographs and anecdotes describing the special relationship between father and son and the lessons learned in day-to-day life on the farm.

Although Bryant earned a degree in mechanical engineering from UVM, farming was what he always wanted to do. "It's always been a part of me," he said.

The event is free and open to the public. Mark Skinner Library is located at 48 West Road in Manchester. For more information, call 362-2607.
