Storm beat Hawks

SANDOWN, N.H. -- The Southern Vermont Storm earned a home playoff game and secured the North Division's No. 2 seed with a 27-18 win over the New England Hawks on Sunday afternoon.

Mike Waters caught a 30-yard touchdown, his eighth of the season, and Mike Woodson added his seventh score. The defense wreaked havoc on the Hawks' offense, as John Mooney, Kevin Coon and Vince Thompson all recorded sacks and TJ Maroney scored after a blocked punt.

Mike Dunham, who had two field goals on the day, booted a 45-yarder with the Storm ahead by six to secure the win.

They'll play the No. 3-seed Middlesex County Warlords on Oct. 13 at Applejack Field in Manchester at 7 p.m.
