Sirloin Saloon demolition to be discussed at DRB
The building has been closed since December, 2011. According to an advertisement that appeared in this week's Manchester Journal, the property will be "transformed" and the interior fixtures, furniture and equipment will be auctioned off.
Attempts to contact Lee Krohn, the town's planning director and zoning administrator, and Ben Hauben, the owner of Vanderbilt Properties, which owns the Sirloin Saloon building, were unsuccessful Friday morning.
The auction will take place on Monday, Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. at its former location and will include the former restaurant kitchen equipment, decorative items, and tables and chairs along with other items.
The Sirloin Saloon had been in existence at it's Depot Street location since July 1976 when it was purchased from The Five Flies restaurant - which had opened in August of 1964. The Sirloin Saloon acquired four parcels of land in the transaction with Tony Perry, the prior owner.
