Serenata at Dorset

DORSET - Hubbard Hall Opera Theatre from Cambridge, N.Y. will return to the Dorset Playhouse on Saturday, Sept. 21 with "Serenata Italiana," a strong lineup of classical songs and operatic arias.

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by a reception featuring regional Italian foods from sponsor Al Ducci's and a wide selection of Italian wines from Wines by George. Tickets are $30 and can be reserved by calling 802-867-5570.

Alexina Jones, Hubbard Hall Artistic Director, has selected four rising opera stars to sing the familiar arias by Verdi and Leoncavallo as well as popular songs by Tosti, Donaudy and others. The performers for the evening will be soprano Rachele Schmeige, mezzo-soprano Brooke Larimer, tenor Chris Lucier and baritone Patrick McNally. They will be accompanied by Michael Clement on piano.

If you like real Italian music - or even think you might - this is an evening not to be missed.
