Send off planned at ICM

MANCHESTER - Israel Congregation of Manchester will have a joyous send-off service in honor of Vera Broekhuysen, the congregation's musical intern for the past year, who will play for the final time (for now).

The service will take place on Friday, May 9, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the Communal Table Shabbat.

The dinner will be held at 7:30 p.m. The synagogue's Friday night service is known for its warmth, communal participation and spiritual uplift.

Broekhuysen will be accompanied by Saragail Benjamin, a member of Israel Congregation who brings her musical skills as a pianist, drummer, and singer to ICM.

"Vera has brought joy to each person she has encountered in her time with us," said Rabbi David Novak. "We wish her well in her future and we hope that her future includes coming back to ICM where she is always welcome."
