Running for Select Board
My roots to Manchester and the Northshire run deep, extending back to the early 1970s. Since moving here, I've been actively involved in town government as a member of both the Design and Development Review Boards and as a coach of youth sports. My wife Tina grew up here and was a student at MEMS. Her parents owned and operated the 1811 house in the Village from 1973 to 1980. We have three children, one is a graduate of UVM, another in college and our youngest child is a student at MEMS today. Tina and I both operate businesses here in Manchester. Tina is the founder and co-owner of the popular 'Take Five Drop-In Childcare" providing a much needed service in town to residents and visitors alike. Take Five also employs 4 to 5 people from the area.
I am a professional voice actor with a home-based recording studio called BirchTree Productions. I've done voice-overs and narration for major campaigns and corporations throughout the U.S. and abroad.
Locally, I've donated my services to both the town and several nonprofit organizations including GNAT-TV. I co-founded AbilityPLUS Inc., a nonprofit sports and recreation organization for people with disabilities and am still an active volunteer with the group. My work history also includes many years in broadcasting for New England radio stations like WAAF, WERI and WBCN.
Needless to say, I am fully invested in Manchester. I want to do everything I can to support what makes this town a great place to live and work. If elected, I will continue my record of attendance at meetings and my commitment of service with a thoughtful, enthusiastic approach to protecting both the financial and overall welfare of our citizens.
I firmly believe that Manchester is poised for a tremendous period of positive development on all fronts. Recent investments in infrastructure and education will most certainly play a major role but, any future success depends on the participation and contributions of the community as a whole. We are all in this together. We are all taxpayers, business owners, parents, employees etc. We all have a stake in the success of Manchester and this is precisely how I ended up on the ballot. I am ready to serve.
You can get involved and inform yourself by attending Town Meeting on March 2nd at 1 p.m. Then, on March 5, please exercise your right to vote and I ask that you consider me as your representative on the Selectboard.
