Running for re-election
My name is Carol Lattuga and I have been a Manchester resident and small business owner for over 40 years and have had the joy of raising my three daughters here.
I've been a member of the Manchester Selectboard for the past 12 years. I have found the experience has been both challenging and rewarding. I am writing to thank you for your past support and to let you know that I am currently running for another two-year term and would like once again to ask for your vote.
As a member of the Selectboard, I have listened carefully to your wishes, the experience of my fellow board members, and my own experience and common sense. A few of the project successes we have achieved during my tenure include:
- Completion of the Center Bridge, now Function Junction, project and downtown infrastructure improvements.
- Redesign and renovation of Factory Point Town Green and Adams Park.
- Consistent containment of Town expenses resulting in one of the lowest tax rates in the State.
Renovation and reinvigoration of the Dana Thompson Recreation Area.
Of course, there are always issues to be resolved, but these are examples of projects that have greatly improved the quality of life in our town. The flooding in the summer of 2011 further emphasized the strength of our volunteer community, which is awesome, to say the least!
For the Selectboard, keeping a close watch on the town budget and tax issues is paramount. We listen to your wishes, and try to present a clear financial picture and understanding of consequences of all budgetary decisions and voter appropriations.
It is an understatement to say that being a selectboard member requires not only time and dedication, but a genuine love and respect for the Town and its residents. I know what a privilege it is to live here and hope to continue (with ongoing enthusiasm!), to serve on the Selectboard. Again, thank you for your support over the years and I pledge to continue working on your behalf if you return me to the two-year Selectboard seat.
