Rudiakov Academy offers classes

MANCHESTER - The Michael Rudiakov Music Academy (MRMA) is in its 13th year, offering string instrument lessons with faculty Joana Genova, violin; Vesela French, violin; Deanna Baasch, violin and viola; Ariel Rudiakov, viola and Jared Shapiro, cello.

The Fall semester dates are Sept. 16- Dec. 2, and tuition is $440 for 11 private lessons for students ages 6-18. For children ages 3-8 MRMA offers Suzuki method violin lessons with Elizabeth Kilpatrick. Tuition for the fall semester is $360 for 12 private and six group 30-minute lessons. Limited scholarships are available.

The Academy is dedicated to the memory of internationally renowned cellist, Michael Rudiakov (1934-2000) who helped to bring classical music to Manchester area children through youth concerts, in- school demonstrations and Music Discovery Week.

All lessons take place at Festival House in Manchester Village and there is one recital each semester.

Students are also given an opportunity to play in a string ensemble together, to perform at MMF family concerts and to participate in workshops with visiting musicians.
