Roundup: Paradis leads BBA in win

ESSEX -- Burr and Burton Academy senior Sean Paradis led the boys hockey team with two goals and two assists as the Bulldogs skated past Mount Mansfield, 5-2.

Brock Pollard and Andy Filippi each tallied a goal and an assist, while Henry Buckley added the final goal. BBA has won three in a row after a 1-3 start to the season.

For MMU, Travis Benson and Nils Miesterling were the goal-scorers and Adam Oler added two assists.

Zack Stewart earned the win in goal as the Bulldogs improve to 4-3.

T-Birds squeak past BBA

MISSISQUOI -- Missisquoi's Katie Campbell scored both goals, including the Thunderbirds' winner with 3:44 left as they downed Burr and Burton Academy 2-1 in girls hockey on Saturday.

BBA's Olivia Warren tied the game late in the second period, but Campbell and Missisquoi (4-3-1) got the last laugh in the Metro battle.

Meg Chandler had 27 saves for BBA, who dropped to 4-2-1 on the year.

Bulldogs downed by Tide

SPAULDING -- Playing their third game in three days, the Burr and Burton Academy girls basketball team ran into a well-rested Spaulding team in a 44-27 defeat on Saturday.

The Tide's Katie Thygesen scored 18 to lead all scorers as they improved to 3-2 on the season.

For BBA (3-4), Olsen Humphrey was the leading scorer with nine points and 10 rebounds. Maggie Oliver added six for the Bulldogs, who have a 13-day wait until their next game against Otter Valley.
