Roundup: Bulldogs top Rutland
RUTLAND >> One goal was all the Burr and Burton girls soccer team needed to get their win against Rutland on Tuesday night.
Grace Pinkus scored the game's only goal off a corner kick by teammate Sky Woodard in the second half to help BBA grab a 1-0 win over the Raiders.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 7-1 on the season.
BBA will next play host to Hartford on Friday at 5 p.m.
Woodard's hat trick leads BBA
BRATTLEBORO >> Burr and Burton senior Brooke Woodard racked up a hat trick on Saturday in a 5-0 win over Brattleboro.
Woodard's first score came with two minutes left in the first half, assisted by her sister Sky.
With 16 minutes left, Woodard scored again of a free kick, then tallied the third two minutes later, assisted on a corner kick, again by Sky Woodard.
In between, Carly Gayda scored three minutes into the second half off an assist from Shea Lincourt and Maggie Sullivan added another score.
Ana Garay played in goal with 1 save as BBA improves to 6-1 on the year.
BBA cross-country competes in Randolph
RANDOLPH >> The Burr and Burton cross-country team competed in the Randolph Invitational on Friday.
Ann Fisher and Joey Conti were individual medalists for BBA as the girls team placed second in a tight meet where two points separated the top three teams. The boys team placed fifth in the field of nine complete teams.
BBA blanks Burlington
BURLINGTON >> The Burr and Burton football team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 28-0 victory over Burlington.
Quarterback Griff Stalcup threw for four touchdowns in the win, with both Jay McCoy and Carter Vickers hauling in two touchdowns apiece.
The Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 200-34 this season.
BBA is now a combined 23-1 in their last 24 games played.
Eagles over power Leland and Gray
ARLINGTON >> Jared Lacoste scored a game-high three goals to lead the Arlington boys soccer team to a 4-1 win over Leland and Gray on Friday night.
After Lacoste got the Eagles on the board first, the senior came back to give Arlington back the lead with his second goal of the contest that came off a nice pass from teammate Will Stewart.
Lacoste's day wasn't done though, as the senior captain himself recorded a hat trick to give Arlington a 3-1 lead.
Stewart got himself a goal later on in the second half to help Arlington seal up it's third win of the season.
With the win, the Eagles improve to 3-3-1 on the season
VBCA golf tournament
RANDOLPH >> The second annual Vermont Basketball Coaches Association golf scramble will be held October 2 at Montague Golf Club.
The event begins at noon and costs $85 per person, which gets a round of golf with a cart, prizes and dinner.
The cost per foursome is $340 and there are opportunities to sponsor individual holes for $100.
