Bulldogs outlast Colonels

In a contest that saw momentum swing both ways on Wednesday night, the Burr and Burton Academy girls lacrosse team beat Brattleboro, 14-12, in overtime.

BBA was down 9-6 early in the second half when the team strung together a 5-0 run capped by a Katy Jones goal with five minutes remaining. But the Colonels found life in the dying moments, scoring two goals, the tying one coming from Alex Fellows, to tie up the game and send it to overtime.

In overtime, Morgan Bazyk scored two of her game-high seven goals during the first half of the session to put BBA up 13-11, then Megan Siggins scored with just under two minutes left in the second to cut it to 13-12.

The Bulldogs were able to shrug off the goal, and with one second remaining Bazyk scored her final goal of the night to seal it.
