Roundup: BBA boys lax tops rival MAU
Carter Vickers and Tom Morgantini each had four goals in the victory, which improves BBA to 5-2, and is the Bulldogs' fifth straight. Andrew Sherras added two tallies.
Ben Alexopoulos and Max Pagnucco each had a goal and three assists in the win. Goalie Mike Sztorc had 18 saves in what BBA coach Jason Pergament said was his best game of the year.
Bulldogs win big
BENNINGTON - The Burr and Burton Academy boys tennis team won its fifth straight match to start the season against Bellows Falls on Tuesday, a 7-0 victory.
All the wins were in straight sets, including two 6-0, 6-0 wins from No. 1 Peter Oh and No. 2 Sam Cochrane.
Noah Wetherald, Christian Webb and Justin Tegen won their singles matches, and the team of Conor Harrington and Nick Fayette won at No. 1 doubles, while Cam Marcellus and Justin Walla were victorious at No. 2 doubles.
Voltage soccer to begin season
BENNINGTON - The Vermont Voltage soccer team will start its season by competing in the U.S. Lamar Hunt Open Cup.
The Voltage, part of the USL PDL, qualified for the tournament by finishing third in the conference last season.
The Voltage played the New York Red Bulls U-23 team at the Red Bull's training facility in Whippany, New Jersey on Wednesday.
The Voltage will host its home opener in two weeks time, hosting CFC Azul at Applejack Field in Manchester on May 24 at 6 p.m.
