Roundabout paving rescheduled

MANCHESTER -- Weather permitting, the final paving of the roundabout for the current construction season will begin late Monday, Nov.12, reopening the roads at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Road closures will be in effect on Main Street south (Rt. 7A) and Depot Street (Rtes.11/30).

The paving, originally planned for Thursday, Nov. 8 was cancelled due to cold temperatures and the anticipated first snowfall of the season. Crews hope the warmer temperatures and no precipitation next week will allow the work to proceed. Should weather prohibit the paving, plans call for shifting the work to Wednesday/Thursday. It is critical to get the roads paved and up to grade prior to the seasonal plant closings.

Cars traveling north on Route 7A will be routed over Wyman Lane and Cottage Street to Depot/Rtes. 11/30. There will be no access to Depot Street from its intersection with Cottage Street to the Junction. Flaggers and sheriffs will be on hand to direct drivers. Trucks, buses and vehicles pulling trailers should use Union Street to travel north via Richville Road and Center Hill.
