Response to '1,400 years'
Hal is calling names again: "Cheney, a coward, a draft dodger ," and as in the past, he proves that he is factually challenged. The true facts are: when Cheney became eligible for the draft during the Vietnam War, he applied for and received five draft deferments in the 1960s. Cheney testified during his confirmation hearing for our Secretary of Defense that he received four of these deferments to finish a college career that lasted six years. His final deferment in 1966 was granted as a 3A status hardship exemption which excluded men with children or dependent parents. In 1967, Cheney turned 26 and was no longer eligible for the draft - he was not a draft dodger. Cheney was ultimately confirmed by the U.S. Senate by a vote of 92-0 and honorably served as our Secretary of Defense from 1989 tom 1993.
Please continue writing Hal, but don't let your vehement zeal cloud the bulk of your writings.
