Registration open for Maple Leaf Half Marathon

MANCHESTER - Registration for the 2013 Maple Leaf Half Marathon and 5K Run/Fun Walk is now open. This will be the 35th anniversary of the inaugural race and for a few more weeks runners and walkers can register at a huge discount, for many less than their fee for last year's race.

Those wishing to participate in the Maple Leaf don't have to run the half marathon. There is a 5K, which is 3.1 miles. Another option is for groups of four or more to join forces for the Jay Hathaway Memorial Team Challenge, which can be done in either the half marathon or the 5K.

Businesses are encouraged to sponsor their employee teams. This year's Maple Leaf will be held at the Dana Thompson Recreation Center in Manchester on Saturday September 7 at 8 a.m.

For more information, visit or call the Manchester Chamber of Commerce (1-800-362-4144). Participation will be limited to 1,000 runners and walkers and there will not be registration on race day.
