Registration open for Gear Up for Lyme

MANCHESTER - The Rotary Club of Manchester announces that registration is open for the 11th Annual Gear Up for Lyme Mt. Equinox Uphill Bike Climb, to be held Aug. 2 at Mt. Equinox Skyline Drive.

Riders will challenge a 5.4 mile course rising 3200 vertical feet , making the Gear Up for Lyme Mt. Equinox Uphill Bike Climb one of the toughest climbs in the area. The Mt. Equinox event is one of the series of hill climbs making up the Bike Up the Moun tain Points Series (BUMPS) - a summer long series that includes hill climbs at Wachu sett, Mt. Ascutney, Whiteface, Mt. Washington, Mt. Greylock and Mt. Kearsarge.

The Rotary Club of Manchester is presenting this event as a fundraiser to benefit both the Lyme Disease Association (LDA) as well as the local charities of the Rotary Club. The LDA supports research and treatment of Lyme Disease that affects thousands throughout the United States, with a particularly high incidence in New England.

Manchester Rotary has been supporting the world community for 77 years, with a major focus over the years being the Dana Thompson Recreation Area, college scholarships, and other worthy causes.
