Pursuit of Wellness Run set

DORSET - The third annual Pursuit of Wellness Run/Walk against pancreatic cancer and 1st ever Pumpkin Fun Run will be in Dorset on Oct. 19. This year's race will start at the Dorset Theater and feature a picturesque course that will include Church Street and Dorset West Road. All ages and ability levels are encouraged to participate. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest male and female runners, the fastest junior and master runners as well as the walker.

The first ever Pumpkin Fun Run will be a nearly 1 mile run and will be open to children of all ages. The race course will be lined with pumpkins and entrants are encouraged, although not required, to run in costume.

All proceeds from the Pursuit of Wellness and Pumpkin Fun Run will be donated to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the world's deadliest forms of cancer with an extremely low survivorship rate. Early detection of this disease is rare and it is one of the hardest cancers to treat, partially because it is typically discovered too late.
