Police seek help locating missing Townshend woman - UPDATE

TOWNSHEND - The Vermont State Police continue their investigation and search for Helen Holmes,59, of Townshend. The Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is taking the lead of this case; and there are several detectives following up on financial information and checking potential locations where she may have gone. Investigators are still actively looking for her vehicle and are speaking with friends and co-workers. The Vermont State Police is concerned for her safety due to the fact she hasn't reached out to family or friends since Friday, according to the state police.

The Vermont State Police initially received a request for a welfare check on September 6 at 2 p.m., as Holmes did not arrive for a scheduled appointment. The initial investigation revealed that Holmes was last seen at her residence at approximately 9 a.m. that same day. Over the weekend, the Vermont State Police completed several searches of the Plumb Road area near the residence; checked other personally significant locations; and monitored Holmes' cell phone, social media, and financial activity, all with negative results.

The Vermont State Police is looking for any information to Holmes' whereabouts. Anyone who has seen or heard form Helen Holmes since the morning of the September 6 is encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police at the Brattleboro Barracks at 802-254-2382.
