Pearce for Treasurer

To the Editor:

The candidate I'm really plugging for this election season is Beth Peace, candidate for State Treasurer.

Quite simply, I like Beth because she impresses me as the best qualified person in Vermont for this post (no, that's not hyperbole), she is not a career politician and she will not use the Treasurer's position as a stepping stone to higher office.

Over the past four years that I've served as a State Representative, I've seen Beth in action many times and it is very evident to me that she knows every aspect of the Treasurer's job inside and out. Beth originally served as Jeb Spaulding's Deputy Treasure, and then in 2011, was appointed to fill out Jeb's term as State Treasurer when he moved on to serve as Secretary of Administration. Beth has worked hard during her tenure to solidify and strengthen Vermont's admirable AAA bond rating, she has been a driving force behind pension reform and geared up her office to help ease the post Irene pain for many cities and towns throughout Vermont.

Beth Pearce is a true public servant; a State Treasurer that all Vermonters can count on and trust.
