Pawlet Library to celebrate 10 years

Posted
PAWLET - The Pawlet Library is holding a birthday party to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the library's rebirth on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m.

As part of the celebration, at 1 p.m. there will be a talk by the creators of the Pawlet 250th Anniversary Quilt. From selecting the pattern and fabrics, choosing the themes, and pulling it all together, the quilters will tell the story of how this beautiful town heirloom came into being.

At 2 p.m. there will be the unveiling of the Pawlet Library's newest addition: The Jordan Dollhouse. Painstakingly created over the course of a decade by Pawlet residents Bill and Charlotte Jordan, the dollhouse features inlaid floors, cedar shingled roof, wrap-around porch and electric wiring.

Children will have the opportunity to draw a picture or write a story about why they love the Pawlet Library. The stories and pictures may be created in advance or on that day. All works must be limited to oen page. One picture and one story will each win a gift certificate to the Northshire Bookstore.

The celebration is free and open to the public; birthday cake and cider will be among the refreshments.

For more information call the library at 325-3123.
