Parent roundtable at BBA

MANCHESTER - On April 9 at 6:30 pm in the Riley Center, BBA will be hosting the third in a series of Parent Roundtable discussions.

The topic of this session is "Smart Practices in the Digital Age." The featured speaker is Janell Burley Hofmann who will also be conducting workshops and leading discussions with students during the school day.

Hofmann is an author, speaker, parent coach and a champion for parent engagement in changing times. She is leading the movement on tech and respect. Hofmann is also a regular blogger for the Huffington Post and a tech and family consultant for NPR's Marketplace Tech. She wrote the book "iRules: What Every Tech-Healthy Family Needs to Know About Selfies, Sexting, Gaming and Growing Up."

Hofmann is the mother of five children and her real life perspective allows her to relate and understand the needs and challenges of today's families. Previous BBA sessions covered "You and the Law (Drugs and Alcohol) - What every parent should know." and "Keeping Your Student Safe - How to address Drug and Alcohol concerns with your teenager." The goal of these parent dialog sessions is to give insight to the issues children are facing as well as help parents in coming up with ways to approach them in a positive manner. This event is free and the community and every BBA parent is invited to attend.
