Northshire Hockey Association sets try-outs
The clinic will give those who have never tried the sport the opportunity to learn the basics in a fun, safe environment.
Try Hockey for Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. This program, designed to provide youth hockey associations with a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joiint effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, and NHL member clubs. With Total Hockey and Liberty Mutual Responsible Sports, the offical sponsors of Try Hockey for Free Day, USA Hockey has locations offering kis this unique opportunity.
"We look forward to introducing new families to our sport," said Sharon Poddick, President of NHA. "All ages and abilities are encouraged to try hockey for free during our USA Hockey sponsored event. All you need are skates (hockey, figure or borrow some from NHA), helmet (any type such as ski, bike or hockey) and gloves (winter gloves will work perfectly)."
Participants will go through drills and fun games on the ice during an NHA youth hockey practice.
