Northshire Baptist Church marks 1-year anniversary of new pastor
MANCHESTER >> Northshire Baptist Church has announce the one-year anniversary of the arrival of Pastor Tim Counts. Pastor Tim, his wife Melanie, and their three children moved to Vermont last year from the state of Washington and he led his first Northshire Baptist service on May 10, 2015. A graduate of The Masters Seminary in Los Angeles, Counts previously held pastoral positions in New Mexico and Washington before coming to Vermont.
Northshire Baptist Elder, Gerry Lamb, said, "It's great to have this young, vibrant pastor and his family as part of our church."
The church also announced several worship updates:
Pastor Tim is starting a new Sunday message series in May entitled "From Life's First Cry to Final Breath: Jesus Commands My Destiny," which focuses on the eighth chapter of the book of Romans. A message series dedicated to the Pastor's late grandfather, a preacher for four decades. According to Pastor Tim, "I feel it's important for our church family to focus on the truth that the gospel brings us all the way home."
Commencing May 26, the regular 7 p.m. Thursday Prayer at Church meetings will start a new series that should have meaning for new and long-time believers alike, as well as individuals and families wanting to learn more about what being a Christian really means. In addition to a time for prayer, the Thursday evening meetings will cover topics from the Wayne Grudem book, "Christian Beliefs: Twenty Basics Every Christian Should Know."
The church continues its Community Men's Bible Study every Wednesday at 6 a.m. and its first-Saturday-of-each-month Men's Breakfast and Bible Study at 7:30 a.m. A new Women's Bible Study will be announced soon.
The standard Sunday schedule remains 9:30 a.m. for the Worship service – which offers Children's church for those ages 2-6 – followed by a brief period of fellowship before the 11 a.m. Sunday School classes for preschoolers, young children, teens, and adults. All ages are studying "The Gospel Project" in Sunday School, which covers the storyline of the Bible in three years. All classes study the same Bible story and the discussion and emphasis in each class is based on age level.
Northshire Baptist is located at 5769 Main Street (Route 7A) in Manchester Center, 1.5 miles north of the roundabout at the intersection of Routes 11, 30, and 7A.
