Muench wins Scieszka Award

MANCHESTER - Weston Muench of Manchester received the 2013 James G. Scieszka Memorial Scholarship Award. For the past four years, Muench played on the school's basketball teams and served as team captain. He also played for four years on the school's baseball teams, as well as the school's j.v. soccer team, and its cross-country team. Muench consistently earned honor roll status and was a member of the National Honor Society. He has contributed to his school as a tenor saxophone player, an actor, a chorus member, president of his junior class, a freshman mentor, a member of the student council, and as the lead emcee at school-wide assemblies.

The son of Bill and Barbara Muench of Manchester, Weston Muench will be spending 10 months in Chile on a Rotary Exchange Program, and then will be attending Colby College in Maine. This memorial award is presented annually in memory of Jim Scieszka, a BBA freshman who was killed in 1986.
