MSS to offer crochet class for children

MANCHESTER - Maple Street School will be hosting beginning crochet classes for children in grades 2-5. This after school class will be held on Mondays, beginning March 25 through April 22, excluding April 15.

From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., students will learn how to hold their yarn, crochet and hook properly, how to make a foundation chain and several basic crochet stitches. The class will also discuss hook sizes, gauge and how to read yarn labels. Each student will receive a crochet hook and ball of yarn to continue crocheting once the class is completed.

Maple Street is thrilled to have Stacy Gates of Create with Bogate teaching the weekly class. Gates has been crocheting for more than 30 years and is currently working on her masters of crochet. Pre registration for this class is required as it is limited to six students. For more information, visit http://bogate. or contact Gates at 362-5608 or
