MSL to host foreign language groups

MANCHESTER - Foreign language conversation groups will be meeting at Mark Skinner Library beginning on April 5.

Teachers from Burr and Burton Academy and Maple Street School will be leading groups in German, French and Spanish through May.

Burr and Burton Academy German teacher Barb Miceli will lead the German conversation group on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. The second group session will be held on April 23, followed by sessions on May 14 and May 28.

Burr and Burton Academy French teacher Michelle Emery and Maple Street School French teacher Lizzy Lindenberg will be holding a group on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. The next one will be on April 25 followed by groups on May 16 and May 30 to discuss everything from French patisserie to the political situation in Mali.

Spanish speakers can practice with BBA Spanish teacher Sue Ritchie on Fridays at 3 p.m. The next group meeting will be on April 26 and there will be two others on May 17 and May 31.

Most meetings are theme-based. Intermediate and advanced speakers may feel most comfortable. However, beginners are always welcome to attend, to listen and absorb until ready to fully participate.
