MSL celebrates Black History Month

MANCHESTER - Mark Skinner Library will commemorate Black History Month by presenting "Mighty Times: The Children's March," on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Academy Award winner, for Best Documentary, Short Subjects will begin at 6:30 p.m.

On May 2, 1963, the children of Birmingham, Ala. took to the streets to challenge segregation. This testament to the fact that young people can make a difference is a production of "Teaching Tolerance," a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The film runs 40 minutes and will be followed by discussion. It is appropriate for Grades 6 through adult. The program is free and open to the public.
