MSL basket raffle fundraiser underway

MANCHESTER - Mark Skinner Library's annual basket raffle fundraiser, which will benefit the library's summer reading program, is underway.

Kids who participate in the Summer Reading Program can earn free raffle tickets for an array of themed baskets filled with books and an assortment of toys. Parents, can enhance their children's chances of winning by purchasing additional raffle tickets. There are also some selections for teens.

For the adults there is the "Day & Night Raffle" with offerings from local businesses. There will be an early drawing for musical and theatrical performances. Items include such things as an evening out in Dorset, Weston or Manchester at a concert or theater, coupled with certificates for some favorite restaurants. Other possibilities include enjoying a movie at home while indulging in chocolate treats, or a glass of wine, after spending a day at the spa, among others.

An early drawing will be held on July 19 for theater performances at the Dorset Theater, the Weston Theater, and for the Manchester Music Festival's Young Artists Series. The drawing for all other raffle items will be Aug 16.

The following businesses and community groups donated to the MSL annual Summer Reading Program Raffle: Barrows House, Dorset Inn, Dorset Theatre Festival, The Spa at Equinox, J0Y-All Things Under Things, Manchester Music Festival, Mother Myrick's Confectionery, Northshire Bookstore, The Perfect Wife Restaurant & Tavern, Village Picture Shows, Weston Theatre, and Mark Skinner Library Book Group.

Raffle tickets may be purchased at the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The library is located at 48 West Road in Manchester Village.
