MEMS Second grader raises funds for Vets home
Inspired to service by his grandfather Roger Preuss, Cody raffled off a Christmas tree and also collected additional donations to support Vermont Veterans. Surrounded by his parents Jennifer and Craig Casey, elder brother Trevor and his fellow MEMS second graders, Cody received a special military challenge coin presented by Melissa Jackson, CEO/Administrator of the Vermont Veterans' Home, and Col. Al Faxon ret. Marine, as a token of gratitude for Cody's outstanding efforts on behalf of the Veterans' Home.
Jackson and Col. Faxon noted that the Vermont Veterans' Home currently serves residents up to 98 years of age who have seen a lot of the history that MEMS students study in school, and they appreciate the fact that students like Cody reach out to help members of their community.
