Marine Corps luncheon scheduled

MANCHESTER - The 238th United States Marine Corps birthday celebration will take place on Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 12 p.m. The luncheon will be held at Manchester's Garlic John's Restaurant on Route 11/30.

Throughout the world, wherever marines are stationed, there is a celebration - generally on the date the Marine Corp was founded - at Tun Tavern in Philadelphia, Penn on Nov. 10 1775.

The event brings together, in one place, marines who had served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan and places in between.

The common denominator is that they all had served in one of America's unique military organizations.

Contact John Stuermer at 802-375-6987 to reserve a seat for the luncheon.
