Manchester Health Service wins accolade

MANCHESTER - Manchester Health Services has been named to the Top 500 of the 2013 HomeCare Elite, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publicly available performance measures in best practice implementation, performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.

"We are very pleased," said Barbara Keough, RN, Executive Director of the Manchester agency. "Manchester Health Services is one of the smallest agencies in the country on the HomeCare Elite list. This is a testament to the hard work of our staff."

Established in 1942, Manchester Health Services is a local, non-profit, Medicare and Medicaid-certified home health agency, providing home care and health services to residents of Manchester, Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland. The agency also offers outpatient therapy at their office in Manchester, and Private Care, a private-pay, in-home care program. Hospice services are provided through an affiliation with Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice.

The HomeCare Elite identifies the top 25 percent of home care agencies in the country and is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry. The award is co-sponsored by OCS HomeCare, the leading provider of home health information and DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line.

Mary Oakes, Senior Vice President at National Research noted, "The 2013 HomeCare Elite winners demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered care and serving as leaders in the home health community.
