Manchester Health Care named to HomeCare Elite

MANCHESTER - Manchester Health Services has been named to the 2012 HomeCare Elite list of the top-performing home health agencies in the country. Winners are ranked by an analysis of publically available performance measures in quality outcomes, process measure implementation, quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.

Executive Director Barbara Keough RN stated, "Manchester Health Services is one of the smallest agencies in the country on the HomeCare Elite list and we are honored to receive this recognition. My staff is committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, which is reflected in our quality outcomes."

Established in 1942, Manchester Health Services is a local, nonprofit, Medicare-certified home health agency, providing home care and health services to residents of Manchester, Arlington, Sandgate, and Sunderland. An outpatient therapy department is located in the office building in Manchester. Hospice services are offered through an affiliation with Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice. The agency's newest program, Private Care, is a private-pay, in-home care program.

Marci Heydt of DecisionHealth noted, "The HomeCare Elite designation continues to gain importance given the increased regulatory mandates and the threat of shrinking reimbursement revenue. Home health agencies that have earned recognition among the HomeCare Elite demonstrated that they not only can adapt to an evolving marketplace but continue to excel in both clinical and financial outcomes.

The HomeCare Elite is the only performance recognition of its kind in the home health profession. The 2012 HomeCare Elite is co-sponsored by National Research Corporation, the leading provider of healthcare information, and DecisionHealth, publisher of Home Health Line.
