Maguire named Chamber president

MANCHESTER - Louis F. Maguire, will succeed Joe Wagner as President of the Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce effective July 1.

Maguire has served on the Board of Directors, Chamber's Executive Committee and most recently as Treasurer during the past two years. He is Store Manager of the TD Bank at 58 Bonnet St. in Manchester Center. Maguire was with Berkshire Bank prior to joining TD Bank last year as Assistant Vice President.

Maguire also practiced real estate law for six years before going into the financial industry. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York Bar Association and Vermont Bar Association.

A Dorset resident, Maguire also serves on the board of Neighborworks of Western Vermont. He is a 1978 graduate of Plattsburgh State University of New York.

"A strong Chamber is so important to the success of any community and I am committed to grow our membership over the next year and work towards making Manchester and the Mountains the number one tourism destination in Vermont," said Maguire. "With our Visitor Welcome Center now in place, we [are] the hub of information, marketing and outreach for the entire region."

Wagner will be stepping down after two years of leadership as of July 1.

Berta Maginniss is the Executive Director of the organization. The Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Meeting on July 31.
