Long Trail to host Cookies, Clay and Play

DORSET - Long Trail School will host Cookies and Clay and Play on Sunday, Dec. 2. Children of all ages are welcome to come to LTS and decorate a cookie to enter into its gingerbread man/woman decorating contest on Sunday, Dec. 2, from noon to 2 p.m. Students will be on hand to assist younger children with their sweet artistic creations. Prizes will be awarded to cookies in three categories: ages two to five, ages six to nine and ages 10 and over.

Adults and children are invited to make the first bowls of the season for Empty Bowls 2013. Let the making and baking season begin as we gather together to support Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. While there is no charge for either activity, potential participants are asked to consider bringing a gift card to hang on the holiday tree. The school will be helping provide toys for families in the New Jersey communities of Point Pleasant, Bay Head and Mantoloking. Potential participants may even stay for Long Trail's 2 p.m. production of "Once Upon a Mattress" if they so desire.

Play tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. To reserve tickets for the performance, call (802) 867-5717 ext. 102. For more information about Cookies and Clay as well as LTS' Sandy relief efforts, contact Chelley Tifft, Asst. Director of Admissions, at 802-867-5717 ext. 190.
