Lions Club seeks new members

ARLINGTON >> For over 50 years the Arlington Lions Club has been a significant part of our community. Over the years the Arlington Lions Club has raised close to $500,000 through fun project such as lawn parties, barbecues, variety shows etc. The majority of the money stayed in our communities and help fund eye glasses and hearing aids for families in need, scholarships, swimming lessons, the Arlington Lions pool and pavilion, and Christmas lights in downtown Arlington.

The Arlington Lions Club has now reached a crossroad. In order to continue to serve our communities more, members with fresh ideas and talent are needed. To better encompass the communities we serve, we are also considering changing our name to the Battenkill Valley Lions Club.

We invite you to join us for an informational meeting on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Village Peddler, 261 Old Mill Road where you can learn more about the Arlington Lions Club and Lions International and to give us your input on the type of projects you would like to see the Arlington Lions Club take moving forward. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and join in the fun and fellowship of being a Lion. Refreshments will be served.

We hope to see you there. If you are not able to attend and would like more information, please feel free to call me anytime.

King Lion Nick Monte, 375-6037
