Lillies and Pilgrims to play Jamaica

Posted
JAMAICA - The Jamaica Town Hall summer concert season continues on Saturday Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. when the harmony trio The Boxcar Lilies and Vermont string band The Dusty Pilgrims will perform. Supporting the release of their brand new CD, "Sugar Shack," The Boxcar Lilies will perform their signature mix of folk, country, and bluegrass-tinged Americana music. Accompanying themselves on guitar, clawhammer banjo, electric bass, and washboard, the Western Massachusetts-based band has brought their uniquely warm sound and energetic stage presence to venues up and down the Eastern seaboard including the Iron Horse Music Hall, Club Passim and Philadelphia's Tin Angel. Their singing voices, like their writing voices are distinct and exceptional, but combine to make a sound that is sometimes gritty, sometimes delicate, but always warm and welcoming. Their release "Sugar Shack" made its debut on the Folk DJ Charts at #2 this May and it was highlighted by both CMJ.com and eMusic.com in their roundup of exciting new releases.

Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. The Jamaica Town Hall is on Route 30 in Jamaica,
