Letter to the editor: Eagles seeking Thanksgiving donations

Eagles seeking Thanksgiving donations

That time of year is approaching once again and we at the Bennington Fraternal Order of Eagles are getting ready for our annual Thanksgiving Dinner for senior citizens, those who are shut-in, and the needy. This is a one-day event to be held the day before Thanksgiving, Nov. 25.

We are a non-profit organization and we are asking for your help in this important fundraiser. Every year we try to raise money to put on a Thanksgiving Day dinner for those in Bennington County who are in need. We turn no one away. Last year we were able to serve more than 1,000 dinners because of people like you who were generous enough to help in this important event. Our goal is to feed everyone who needs a warm dinner on Thanksgiving.

We look forward to this event every year to help our community. We thank you in advance for any donation (Money, food, paper products, etc.) that you may be able to help us with. Please make any checks payable to: F.O.E. Aerie #1861. If you are able to donate your time as well, that would be greatly appreciated. We need drivers to deliver dinners as we as people to help us fill our to-go trays. If you are able to donate your time please stop in and sign up or come in on the day of the event. We start at approximately 11 a.m. If you have any questions or concerns about this event, please feel free to call our aerie at 442-9780.

— William Bruso, worthy secretary, Bennington Aerie #1861
