Knitted blankets to benefit Project Linus

MANCHESTER - Yarns for Your Soul will be continuing their monthly charity knitting campaign, "Knit for Your Soul and Theirs." Throughout the months of April and May, knitters and crocheters of all abilities are encouraged to create blankets and afghans for children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. These comforting items will be distributed through Project Linus.

Project Linus, founded in 1995, is a non-profit organization that brings peace, comfort and love to critically ill and traumatized children in the form of handmade security blankets. Project Linus collects blankets of all shapes and sizes. The blankets collected by Yarns for Your Soul will be distributed by Project Linus to local children. Named after the nostalgic Peanuts character who carried his blanket everywhere, Project Linus thinks of blankets as a shield of protection, or a hug of comfort.

Yarns for Your Soul will be providing a free pattern with the recommended materials available at the shop. Upon completion of the project, knitters and crocheters will receive a coupon good for 10 percent off a future purchase.

For more information please visit the shop located at 605 Depot Street in Manchester Center, or call 802-362-3151.
