JESP for mud season

MANCHESTER >> JESP, the "Junior Entertainment Spring Program" created by Michael and Carolina Ellenbogen of Village Picture Shows, began Friday, Feb. 26 and continues through Thursday, April 28. All students with appropriate BRSU school ID or JESP Letter provided by Village Picture Shows will receive the following benefits: $6 Movie Tickets to any show and $2 off a medium popcorn/Medium Soda combination.

The program starts with the feel good drama "Eddie the Eagle" about Michael "Eddie" Edwards, a courageous British ski-jumper who, with the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, and "Hail Caesar!", a new Coen Brothers movie. "Zootopia" opens March 4 and "The Jungle Book" on April 15.

JESP is a substitute for the end-of-year free ticket program that has been run in the past.

"Obviously we were inspired by JISP as we considered new ways to engage with local students and provide affordable access to some of Hollywood's best movies coming this spring, during a slow time for everyone," said the Ellenbogens.

The schools that have been invited to the program at this time include Burr & Burton Academy, The Dorset School, Flood Brook Union School, the Long Trail School, The Downtown School, Stratton Mountain School, MEMS, The Mountain School at Winhall, Arlington Memorial High School and Maple Street School. Any schools wishing to participate, but not mentioned, may contact Michael Ellenbogen at Eons Creative by calling (802) 768-8498.

JESP Tickets are available only at the box office and seating is not guaranteed. A schedule of upcoming movies will be kept as up to date as possible on the "Coming Soon" tab at, however movies cannot be post until they have been confirmed by the distributor. For movies and show times now playing, visit the website or call (802) 362-4771. The Village Picture Shows is located at 263 Depot Street; Manchester Center, VT 05255.
