It's fiddle music time

LONDONDERRY - John Specker will present a concert of Clawhammer Banjo and Old-Time Fiddle Music on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 3-4:30 p.m. This event will take place at Mountain Painters and Artisans Gallery, located in the Londonderry Shopping Plaza between the bank and the pharmacy. Come tap your toes to "Soldiers Joy," one of the most popular tunes in America in the late 1700s. A sample of the lyrics is as follows, "There goes General Washington, he's got his horse in a sweeping run, the barefoot boys are a-beggin' to fight, we're gonna cross the Delaware River tonight...." Admission is free of charge, and all are welcome to this enjoyable as well as educational celebration of the traditional music of colonial America For more information, visit
