Improv group to perform at LTS

Posted

DORSET >> Baby Wants Candy, a musical theater improv group based in New York and Chicago, will perform at Long Trail School on Thursday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. In their show, the audience shouts out titles for never-been-performed musicals. Accompanied on piano, the first title that the group hears becomes the title and theme for that evening's completely improvised 60 minute musical. Tickets for the 6:30 performance are $10 and available at the door.

The performers are also holding workshops for LTS students throughout the school day. Baby Wants Candy helps students develop their improv ability using different schools of long form improv as well as BWC's signature style. This is an exceptional experience for students and an awesome opportunity for the evening's audience to enjoy their work. BWC has featured performers Stephanie Weir and Nicole Parker (MadTV), Rachel Dratch and Aidy Bryant (SNL), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Garry Tallent (Bruce Springsteen and the E St. Band), Mark Pender (Max Weinberg 7), to name a few.
