Hot blues for a cold night
The concert is at 7 p.m. at the Eagles Club on Routes 11 and 30 in Manchester.
"This is an amazingly accomplished group of musicians who have played with or opened for some of the great names in the music industry. The talent and heart they bring make for an incredible performance. These guys are the best - they get together to play for this concert because they want to help, and it's always a good time," said Ski for Heat event founder Martha Robertson.
Concert proceeds go to Ski for Heat, the fund-raiser that provides heating fuel assistance to families and individuals in the local community. "We are facing winter's cold ahead, and what better way to start the upcoming season-of-giving than by contributing a gift of heat to someone in need," commented Robertson.
Ski for Heat is a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing fundraiser on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, that benefits the Shareheat Fund at BROC.
Wild Wings Ski Touring Center in Peru, VT, generously donates the use of its trails, waiving its trail fees, to participants in the event. "We make it easy and fun for everyone to take part," said Robertson. "Mark your calendar now for what has become a popular annual winter event." Clark's Quality Foods in Londonderry is Ski for Heat's title sponsor.
"Clark's has been a huge supporter of Ski for Heat since day one,' and it is an honor to have them be our title sponsor again this year," said Robertson. Tyler Electric & Security Inc. in Dorset is the presenting sponsor.
Tickets for the concert are available online at www.skiforheat.org, at Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, or by contacting skiforheat@vermontel .net, and will be sold at the door.
The suggested donation is $20. Concert/ticket and Ski for Heat information is also available at www.skiforheat.org or by contacting Martha Robertson at firstname.lastname@example.org. More information about Stannard can be found at www.bobstannard.com.
