Holiday Project is coming

To the Editor:

The Interfaith Council will again be sponsoring the Holiday Project this December. Manchester families who need help during the this holiday season can sign up for a food basket, along with clothing and toys for their children. Forms can be picked up at the Community Food Cupboard.

As in the past, we can always use cash donations to purchase food. Last year, we distributed almost 8,000 pounds of food.

We also need sponsors to adopt families and purchase children's clothing. You may request the size of the family you can afford to shop for. Instructions will be given to you on what is needed for each child.

We aim to give one book and one toy to each child. If you or your organization would like to purchase toys or books, we can provide you with the ages of children on our list.

Although we do not provide clothing for adults, I am asking for donations of good clean adult outwear and boots that we can offer on the date of distribution. Volutneers are needed the day of the distribution to help sort food, wrap gifts if necessary and help recipients take their gifts and food out to their cars.

Please contact Linda Drunsic at 802-362-15-13 if you would like to adopt a family or purchase toys or books for children. If you have good outerwear to donate, you can also call for drop off instructions. We hope that we will have the same wonderful support that we have had in past years. Help make this a memorable holiday season for those families in our community who strugggle to make ends meet. Cash contributions can be mailed The Interfaith Cuncil, PO Box 2644, Manchester Ctr., VT 05255.
