Hike Green Peak with Manchester Section Green Mountain Club

EAST DORSET >> On Saturday, June 18, meet at Jim and Marilyn Hand's house at 1705 Morse Hill Road in East Dorset at 7:45 a.m.

We would drive up to the starting point on Dorset Hill Road at 8 am. From there we will head up the east side of Green Peak using a logging road and a ski trail we have previously used. We will pass the "Bat Cave' and have a quick look.

From there we will proceed up the east side using a pre-existing though sometimes faint trail to the top. There are one or two "tree holding" bumps to go over. We can have lunch on the top. There is unfortunately no good view point from this summit route. From the top we will go down the northwest side of Green Peak, ending up on the Lower Road of Dorset Hollow. Depending on numbers who sign up, Marilyn and I will put one car on the Dorset Hollow side the night before. Dogs can come, bring plenty of water and a lunch. Depending on the group this will take 4 to 5 hours. A moderate hike.

RSVP to Jim Hand <jimehand@yahoo.com>; or 802-362-1673.
