EAST DORSET - Hannah Harrington of East Dorset was recently awarded a Simon Family Public Research Fellowship from the University of Vermont. The highly competitive grant provides financial support to five undergraduate students pursuing summer research devoted to solving a community defined need or problem under the mentorship of a faculty member and community partner. Hannah will be working with UVM's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Department and the Vermont Department of Agriculture, Food and Markets to gather implementation data on Vermont schools participating in Farm to School programming and to create a standard evaluation for those Vermont schools receiving state funds for their Farm to School program. Hannah is a junior in the Honor's College at UVM and a 2011 graduate of Burr and Burton Academy.
