Hampton Inn is needed

To the Editor:

We have been full-time residents of Manchester for 17 years and love it here. This is our first "Letter to the Editor." We are fortunate to travel often and only stay at Hilton Properties - including Hampton Inn. We have stayed at Hampton Inns throughout the U.S. for 25 nights this past year alone, and some were outstanding properties like the one proposed in Manchester. The Hampton Inn Tutwiler in Birmingham and the Hampton in Amelia Island are examples of beautiful properties that blend well with their neighborhoods.

We respect the many fine bed and breakfasts and individually owned hotels in the area and understand that there is a particular client for these properties. They are, however, not for us. We prefer the consistency of quality, service and moderate price of Hampton Inns. If we were planning a visit to Manchester, after researching the hotel choices, we would stay at the Rutland Hampton Inn. There are many other travelers who feel as we do.

Let's all support the Hampton Inn and give all potential visitors a wide choice of lodging and enhance Manchester's ability to compete for visitor's business.
