Hallapalooza time at Dorset Playhouse
In the final hours of rehearsals the cast have been working hard and musical director Gary Schmidt has been fine-tuning the vocals. Chaos and commotion are unavoidable as everything is coming together, that is until 16 year old Sarah Solari, takes the stage. Although her cast members have heard the songs many times before, all activity ceases when Sarah makes her entrance.
All the acts in the show are masterfully wrangled by the "on stage" stage manager, played by Shea Hughes. Anna Foster is also no stranger to the stage as she has "wowed" audiences in several Dorset Players' produc tions and was recently seen in Burr and Burton's production of "M*A*S*H." Dehlia Squillante and Angelia Powers, both Long Trail School students, join Sarah in a hauntingly beautiful a cappella rendition of "The Parting Glass."
Performances will be held at the Dorset Playhouse on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. and on Dec. 1, 2, 8 and 9 at 2 p.m. Admission is $12 for adults ($10 for members), $8 for students, and free for children 5 and under. Call the Players' box office at (802) 867-5777 for tickets. The Players will once again collect toys for the community sharing project, which provides food, toys, and clothing to needy families in local towns. We are asking all ticket holders to bring an unwrapped toy for a child.
