Habitat seeking qualified families

MANCHESTER >> Bennington Area Habitat is searching for a family for a house they will begin to build in Manchester this spring.

Families whose income is between $24,000 (family of 2) and $59,300 (family of 8) are encouraged to look into whether a Habitat home is a suitable choice for them.

Habitat builds homes with people who do not qualify for a conventional mortgage and cannot afford a typical home in this area. Since the Habitat home is built by volunteers and is sold at cost, the mortgage payment on the home is usually less than what a family is paying in rent. A typical monthly payment for a Habitat mortgage, taxes and insurance is approximately $700-$850. Habitat homes provide quality housing at an affordable price.

Applicants must be in need of better housing, have a history of good financial managements and be willing to partner with Habitat. We encourage those who are interested to contact our office immediately for information and to begin the application process. Applications will be accepted until a homebuyer is selected.
